General Information for Forwarding/ Fallback

Standard Forwarding
Standard forwarding is usually applied by end users who have configured a device to a SIP line and want to forward it to a destination accordingly. Simply and conveniently, you can activate a default forwarding on your number at any time in your customer account. A forwarding, for example to a mobile phone, causes call costs and is charged at the normal rates of peoplefone in the minute clock. Make sure you have enough credit on your account

Fallback Forwarding
A fallback forwarding is generally used when a telephone system with several numbers and blocks is configured on the trunk. You now have the option to configure fallback forwards, which means that you can forward individual numbers from a block. However, it is also possible to forward a whole block of 10 numbers.

Pro SIP line can be max. 100 forwarding rules. Peoplefone recommends that fallback redirects be set up according to a concept and that the structure should be as simple and transparent as possible. It simplifies troubleshooting in a problem.

3 Functions-AddCallForwarding Fallback.JPG

  • Incoming number = determines the numbers to be diverted
  • Destination number = defines where the call is to be forwarded to
  • Exact number = a full or exact incoming number is required
  • Prefix = only part of an incoming number is required

Forward all Numbers

Login → Customer Account→ Functions → Call Forwarding → Add a Rule → Forward all numbers to a destination number

  • In this example, an immediate forwarding of all numbers on the SIP trunk forwards to the destination number

  • With this added role, all numbers on the SIP trunk are forwarded to the destination numbers, unless exceptions are added.

Forward a Block of 10 Numbers

Login → Customer Account→ Functions → Call Forwarding

  • If you are working with a prefix, then all the incoming numbers behind the last digit (in this example, the 2) are passed on to the defined target numbers.

  • As you can see in the overview, an exception with a prefix has been added and marked with a (*). All numbers are forwarded to Mobile (079 123 45 67), except for the exceptions (044 552 XX 20 - 044 552 XX 29), which will be forwarded to the fixed numbers 044 123 45 67

5 Fallback Beispiel Exception 10erBlock.jpg

  • In this example, we want to show that rule «would not work» because the exception with (*) would pass the whole block 10 to the 044 123 45 67

5 Fallback Beispiel Exception Fehler.jpg

  • The rule marked here would work and forward to the mobile number 076 123 45 67
